| Perla Abou Abboud died in a nursery at the age of five months on March 7, 2007. Her death was the result of neglect and lack of monitoring of qualified staff in the nursery. Her father, Tony Abou Abboud, said “it is important to file a complaint in court to reach the truth and avoid further tragedies with children.(…)”. His struggle during the past year, brought justice in the court ruling that came out one year after the death. The death of Perla pushed him to fight for better safety standards as well as the existence of qualified staff in nurseries to take care of the children. He joined LASSA to spread this message and bring awareness to the public about this issue.
